Boxing Day and Pirates were in Kirkcaldy to face the Fife Flyers and although they made a promising start it was Flyers who opened the scoring on the powerplay (Lindahl - Unsportsmanlike Conduct 3.47) after 4'22 through Smith. Second period and Pirates play off the powerplay but following a defensive mix up Sobb makes it 3-1 at 22.38. Undeterred Pirates battled on Jonsonn pulling 1 back at 26.06.
Two goals in 3 minutes, however,to Smith (28.O9) and Morris (31.27) established a decisive lead, Pirates first powerplay at 32.07, Smith called for Hooking but they do little with the advantage. Jonsson then misses an open net but fortunately Robertson recovers to find Lynch in front and he ends the period scoring at 34.25
The final action, however, comes after the buzzer with Wilson and Morris clashing but only the Pirate receives a penalty for Roughing.
Final period and Flyers capitalise on the powerplay, Cowmeadow netting at 41.54.
Swan almost pulls one back but his shot hits the post and Flyers respond, Haig breaking clear, he finds Cowmeadow who nets his second at 44.44. The game then petered out with Pirates rarely threatening Flyers goal
