So Chris what was your main reason for signing with Paisley?
I liked the opportunity and I have a lot of family in Scotland. I also liked the intentions of the coaching staff and the direction the team was going in.
Why when and where did you first start to play ice hockey
I don't know, before I knew it I had a stick in my hands. I guess I was about 3 years old when my mom and dad took me to the outdoor rink back home in Calgary
What are your earliest memories in hockey?
Taking slapshots across the living room when I was about 2 years old with my pyjamas on and a baby bottle in my mouth
Who was your idol as a kid?
Steve Yzerman.
Who do you admire now?
Steve Yzerman and Howie Long but my parents were an important influence.
Who inspires you the most to play pro hockey?
Probably I'd say my parents, they gave me the attitude that you only go as far as you work for
What teams have you played for?
Cowichan Valley Capitals, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Peterborough Pirates.
Why did you decide to jump ship?
Although I liked my time in Peterborough. | needed a change. I liked the opportunities and the direction Paisley was going in I also had a chance to play with a couple of guys from my hometown.
Would you ever consider going to another country to play.?
Yeah but for now it's good. My dad is from Scotland and I get to see family I've not seen for a long lime. Scotland's fantastic and the Scottish people are great
How do you feel about travelling so far from home to play hockey?
I've been away from home since I was I 7, travelling is full of great opportunities.
Have you won any awards for playing hockey?
Yeah I've won Canadian college player of the year, college MVP, league MVP league scoring title and college athlete of the year. I also went to the national finals in college and last season won the Christmas Cup with Peterborough
Have you always played forward or have you played in any other position?
No, I've always played forward.
What are your ambitions in hockey?
Realy I just want to be as successful as possible.
If you weren't playing hockey what would you be doing?
I guess I'd probably be at university.
How do you relax off the ice?
I usually spend time with my fiancee which usually involves shopping
What are the best points in your game?
My team-manship. leadership, my anticipation and also my speed.
Who do you think our toughest opponent will be this year?
I don't know, it depends on how we play. I think our toughest opponent will be ourselves.
What's been your most memorable game so far?
When we got through to the Canadian national finals in college even though we didn't win.
What'sbeen you most embarrassing moment on the ice?
Having my belt on my pants snap and having my pants fall down to my ankles.
What's been your most embarrassing moment off the Ice?
Falling asleep in the Students Lounge and missing 30 minutes of my final management exam
Describe yourself in one sentence?
A guy that truly loves the game on and off the ice.
If you could wish for anything what would you wish for?
I already have it - playing the game I love, I have a healthy family and a great fiancee.

I hope to see all the supporters. They're going to see a new version of the Paisley Pirates, they will also see a lot of guys with heart and dedication and they're a great bunch of guys off the ice. |
