Hi there,I was looking on line for the schedule for autumn 2005 but couldn't find it. Please could you help. John
Pat Gougeon - Goaltender. Hi all Paisley Pirates fans, My brother Pat played for the Paisley Pirates as a goaltender in the late fifties. Originally from Timmins Ont. He played his junior hockey with the Orillia Bulldozers. When he returned from Scotland, he continued playing senior hockey in northern Ontario with the Abitibi Eskimos. He still resides in Timmins, enjoying his retirement playing golf and fishing. He has quite a few newspaper clippings and photos while in played for the Pirates. PG
In season 1950 - 51 you mention the names Head, Robertson and Kelly, I started going to the Hockey matches around that time and that was the first forward line up then. The second forward line-up was Arnold, Le Sarge and Cherski. Not sure of the exact year but it was the early 50's. Hope this is of help to you, Bob Greenfield.
Cece Cowie Hi, My name is Leslie Burke, I'm Cece Cowie's granddaughter. I just came across this website and wanted to see if anyone had any memorabilia or memories about my Poppa. If you are curious as to what he is up to, get back to me, as he is doing great!! -Leslie Burke
Can recall going to watch Paisley in the 60's play Glasgow Dynamos. These were the days when the doors shut because the rink was full. Crossmyloof got knocked down and so did the old Paisley rink. I moved to Fife and watched the \Flyers and Dundee. I live midway between the two. Was spoiled for choice and now bickering has broken out the BNL is no more but perhaps it will be good to see Paisley play at Dundee and Kirkcaldy more often. James Mcrae I lived in Shawlands and in the 60's recall Queens Park frozen You had towatch the lumps in the ice though. Still your bit brought back some memories as I had forgotten about the frozen pond. Fiferunner
Can you pass a message on to the fella who is writing a book and wanted pics of the inside of the old East Lane rink. My grandad skated for the 1955 (I think) Scottish speed skating team and I think the pic I have of his team was taken from inside the rink. Anyway, if that is of any use please put him in contact with me. Regards Alan Armour (Swindon Wildcats)
Hi, my name is Guillaume, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Montreal (Canada). I am a huge hockey fan and I have been playing hockey for the past 10 years. I'm currently finishing my summer hockey season at University of Montreal where I have been playing since 2002.I will be working in Glasgow for the whole 2005-2006 school year as a French teacher assistant. Since I will miss so much my hockey league here in Montreal, I would be very happy to be able to play when I'll be in Scotland (I arrive in Glasgow on August 26). I have read everything on the Paisley Pirates website and I've discovered how successful the team has been. I don't know if there is a training camp, or if there is some kind of draft for new players, but I would surely be interested to have a try on the team, if possible of course. I thank you all in advance for the information. Best regards, Guillaume
Hi, my name is Gustaf Länn and I'm a 20year-old Swede studying in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Since it was my first year in college last year everything was kind of new and therefore I didn't have the time to find a hockey team to play for before the season started. Now, however, I've asked around with some mates living in the halls of residence at college where to play hockey, but since they play for some team in Dumfries or Ayr or something and I don't have a drivers license, it seems to me that the best place to play for me is in Paisley. So my question is if it's possible to come and join some pre-season practice game or whatever you use to pick out the squad? I didn't play last season so I don't really know if I'm capable of doing any good for the team, but that's all up to the coaches to decide I guess. I will stay in Sweden during the summer break until the 12th of September when the college starts again in Scotland so I might get there too late for any pre-season practices, but it might be possible for me to fly over some weekend or so if that's the only option. I hope you read this e-mail before the season starts, and if you could contact someone responsible for this kind of stuff would be great. Yours sincerely, Gustaf Länn
